Corewell Health West’s Women’s Health Service Line is seeking a full-time OB/GYN Laborist to add to our thriving team. This exciting position works out of Butterworth Hospital, one of the nation's busiest delivering hospitals, in Grand Rapids, MI.We offer:
12-hour in-house shifts, working alongside OB/GYN Generalist physicians and certified nurse midwives.

A culture of team-based care that includes close working relationships with medical social workers, diabetes educators, dieticians, and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists.
We are accepting applications from Board Eligible/Board Certified OB/GYN physicians.Located on the “medical mile,” Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, has a full complement of adult medical and surgical subspecialists. Approximately 7500 babies are born here each year! 24-hour anesthesia coverage is available on L&D and we have a full-service Level IV NICU. Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is connected to and part of the Butterworth Campus and offers a full array of pediatric subspecialists, including world renown pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery programs.Grand Rapids, Michigan, the second largest city in the state, is an urban community based in West Michigan, only 35 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan. Grand Rapids boasts top rated public and private schools and is home to several professional sports teams. There are several colleges and universities in the area. Grand Rapids offers numerous recreational and cultural activities and has a thriving restaurant and brewery scene!
Essential Functions
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree
LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
