What Your Job Will Be Like:
Organization 03730, Heath and Wellbeing Operations, is currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join their team!
The selected candidate will provide short- and long-term group and individual care, within the scope of practice, through assessment of current health needs, behavioral change counseling, therapy, referral, and education to optimize both physical and mental health of Sandia National Laboratories employees. In addition to direct employee care, one will also participate in program development by assessing program and employee workforce needs and safety, and planning, implementing, and evaluating service or program outcomes.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Develop treatment plans in consultation with a physician where appropriate
Perform therapeutic treatment for patients suffering minor work-related injuries or illnesses through the use of modalities, exercise, and rehabilitation techniques
Refer serious injuries to patient's physician
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.
Qualifications We Require:
A Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
2 years’ experience in outpatient orthopedics or a related field
An active and current New Mexico state license to practice physical therapy
The ability to maintain applicable licensures and certifications to practice as required by the state
The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
A Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree
5 years’ experience in outpatient orthopedics and/or sports medicine
Knowledge of occupational medicine principles, and federal, state, and local laws
Experience in health education or behavior change counseling to optimize physical health
Experience teaching group education classes related to physical therapy
The ability to conceptualize and communicate major elements of assigned programs to all levels of personnel
The ability to prepare and present health education and program specific reports and presentations
The ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia’s core values
About Our Team:
The Employee Health & Wellbeing Operations center provides a variety of health and wellness related services to employees. Occupational and preventive medicine programs, health management, case management, physical therapy, international travel, acute care, and emergency medical services are all conducted within this Center.
Posting Duration:

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
Salary Range:
$66,900 - $128,900
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
