About Physical Security Manager Senior

  Position Overview

  This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.

  We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Executive Director of Physical Security to lead our enterprise-wide security efforts.

  This position is the organization’s lead on all physical security matters, providing support and leadership across a wide range of areas including crisis and incident response, asset protection, programmatic work and event security.

  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive physical security strategies and at a strategic level. This role will lead the organization to optimal and inclusive physical security risk management practices for the complex environments in which it operates. In addition to understand the threat landscape facing the industry and footprint or similar constituencies and have a proven track record of enabling work in challenging operational contexts. They will continue to lead the organization towards best practices and further embed and promote a proactive security culture; collaborate with both internal and external security groups and lines of business; and have experience in program management, finance/budgetary practices, risk/control framework, contract/vendor management, operational processes/improvements and training.

  Responsibilities:

  Strategic Leadership:• Develop and articulate a strategic vision for enterprise-wide physical security, aligning with the overall business objectives.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of security measures across the organization.

  • Lead a team of physical security professionals, ensuring a proactive and vigilant approach to global security operations and personnel safety.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy and governance model including roles and responsibilities aligned with the organization's objectives and holistic roles and responsibilities.

  Risk Management:• Conduct thorough risk assessments and formulate strategies to mitigate identified risks effectively.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align security strategies with business goals and objectives.

  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures across the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations including specific to financial services industry.

  • Establish and maintain crisis response plans to ensure business continuity in the face of security incidents.

  Stakeholder Engagement:• Interface with senior executives, board members, and external stakeholders to communicate security strategies and garner support for initiatives.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on security-related matters, providing counsel to executive leadership.

  Global Operations:• Oversee security operations on a global scale, ensuring consistency and adherence to domestic and international security standards.

  • Develop relationships with security and law enforcement agencies globally to enhance the organization's security posture.

  Technology Innovation:• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., CISO, CRO, CTO) to integrate new and emerging technologies into security framework

  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge security technologies, fostering a culture of innovation within the security function.

  • Drive the integration of advanced technologies to enhance overall security effectiveness.

  • Oversee the deployment and optimization of advanced physical security systems & solutions.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and technological advancements to continuously enhance security protocols and capability.

  Compliance and Governance:• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Establish and enforce governance structures to monitor and assess security policies and procedures.

  Finance Oversight:• Facilitate annual budget requirements to support new or ongoing initiatives, capital security improvement projects, equipment maintenance, lease programs and guard expenses.

  • Maintain ongoing oversight of a multi-million dollar budget to ensure that cost are appropriate being spent, budgets maintained and continuous efforts to explore and execute on cost savings opportunities throughout the fiscal year.

  Management and Relationships:• Lead, motivate, and mentor any direct-reports, including communicating clear expectations, setting performance objectives, providing regular and timely constructive feedback, ensuring balanced workload, providing guidance on professional growth, and monitoring staff well-being as it pertains to stress and resilience. issues and self-care

  • Manage 3rd party vendors including relationship management and negotiation

  • Establish and maintain information networks and relationships with relevant governmental agencies, intelligence, law enforcement and security contacts, as well as corporate and third party resources, to inform both changing strategy requirements and immediate operational risks.

  Qualifications:

  • Experience in physical security, including background in operational security, risk & compliance, and intelligence at large financial institution or relevant industry.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading successful security programs.

  • Proven ability to transform vision and strategy into operational reality with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of advanced physical security techniques for protection from physical security threats.

  • Experience with optimizing existing capability / solutions, while also reducing operational cost and maximizing personnel performance and technical resource.

  • Ability to manage third party vendors including performing due diligence in technology selection, contract negotiations and overall vendor relationship management.

  • Exceptional communications and relationship building skills; effective at building trust and confidence across diverse teams for collaboration.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management in highly matrixed environment.

  • A high level of resilience and drive, able to be flexible, adapt to change as required, choose a course of action, developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions. Ability to cope well under pressure and demonstrate excellent judgment.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership and stakeholders.

  • Advanced degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Industry certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) desirable but not required.

  Job Description

  Establishes the overall corporate physical security strategy and ensures implementation of all physical security programs, policies and procedures.

  Develops physical security policies and coordinates planning and response procedures with Risk, Business Continuity and Crisis Management teams in communication with peer banks regarding mutual security concerns. Meets with federal (FBI), state and local law enforcement and acts as liaison with Homeland Security. Communicates all plans, including the corporate security capital budget, with senior leaders and executives.

  Maintains the safeguarding of employees, buildings, technology and materials. Evaluates existing procedures. Monitors concerns with security on a continual basis and identifies proper applications to mitigate areas of risk with a long-term view and plan which impact one or more markets. Manages security assessments and risk analysis of major buildings, bank branches and physical security equipment. Develops physical security capital expense budgets.

  As owner of all vendor relationships, oversees contract terms and ensures that all service level agreements are met. Supervises the coordination of maintenance with outside vendors and contractors including guard services, alarm monitoring, physical and electronic security installations, video surveillance and ATM's.

  Manages regional physical security managers. Develops the overall training program to validate all training objectives. Utilizes expert knowledge of subject matter and the ability to relate objectives in an effective manner.

  Security Management – Knowledge of information, personnel and premises security processes and procedures and ability to develop and maintain appropriate security levels.

  Work Experience

  Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
