Job Description
Collects specimens for examination and distribution in the Laboratory. Assists in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) activities associated with these specimens.
Job Responsibility
Generates patient draw lists from the Laboratory Information System.
Collects blood specimens for Laboratory examination following Laboratory policies and using age specific criteria and proper patient identification.
Properly verifies drawn specimens in the Laboratory Information System and re-assigns uncollected specimens following Laboratory policies.
Centrifuges specimens as requested and distributes specimens to proper Laboratory areas.
Collects blood culture specimens following Laboratory policies and places them in the blood culture instrument following Laboratory policies.
Performs related duties, as assigned.

Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Certificate of completion of a course in phlebotomy which includes theoretical and actual phlebotomy training, required.
Previous experience in collection of blood from patients of all ages, required
