  Pay Range: $22 to $25 per hour - based on level of education

  CPS is currently hiring for Pharmacy Interns to join our team for our Rochester Regional Health location in Rochester, NY. This pharmacy intern will ensure that patients with complex, specialty diseases achieve great clinical outcomes through our pharmacy services and care.

  Responsibilities:

  Support and assist lead liaisons and site level trainers with the essential duties and responsibilities of the pharmacyProviding high level of customer service to our patientsExplaining the benefits of our specialty pharmacy program and successfully enrolling patients into the programEnsure that everything from order entry to final verification is completed quickly and accurately for all enrolled patients in the specialty programPerforming insurance benefits investigation, e.g. prior authorization, claim rejects, overridesAssist patients with finding financial assistance programs (manufacture programs, grants, etc.) to help patients obtain access to the medication they needConducting outbound phone calls for patient support, adherence checks and refill remindersAppropriately triaging any clinical questions to an appropriate clinician (pharmacist, nurse, or provider)Providing patient education and counseling under the supervision of pharmacist where applicable per state lawQualifications:

  

  Must currently be enrolled and pursing a Doctor of Pharmacy in an accredited programExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) / ability to communicate effectivelyAbility to work well in a team environmentProficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Proficiency in multiple EMR systems such as Cerner, EPIC or MeditechProficiency with dispensing systems such as QS1, RX30, Computer Rx etc.Prior pharmacy experience a plusExperience working with various disease states a plusPharmacy Hours of Operation:

  

  Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pmWork schedule to vary based off school scheduleSchool in session: 10+ hours per weekSchool out of session: schedule will varyInterns are paid per diemCertifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  

  Must have an active intern license for the State of NYHospital Requirements (may be required)

  (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months(MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunityVaricella - (2) documented doses or A Block Titer proving immunityHep B3 Series(Flu) Influenza - required for hire between October 1st through April 30thCOVID VaccineAs a pharmacy intern this role will be overseen by a supervising pharmacist with an active license. Until the time of obtaining a valid license to practice as a pharmacist, the employee is restricted to practicing under the scope of a pharmacy liaison.
