Position Summary
The Clinical Advisor position is an exciting pharmacist opportunity to use your clinical background in a client-facing role. This role will support the management of a large custom EGWP client, and will be an integral part of the clinical account team. As a Clinical Advisor, you will utilize clinical and analytical skills in a managed care environment to positively impact the health of clients and members while helping reduce health care costs. You will accomplish this through:
Serving as the Medicare Part D/EGWP clinical subject matter expert on the clinical account team
Providing clinical consulting services through analyzing drug utilization patterns and trends for the client
Working collaboratively with the client on Medicare Part D/EGWP initiatives and coordinate with internal partners regarding CVS Health Clinical programs.
Working with the client and clinical account team to identify and support formulary and quality optimization strategies related to Medicare Part D/EGWP, STARS, and HEDIS
Leveraging your presentation skills by delivering reporting, in partnership with the clinical account team, to the client on the clinical aspects of their pharmacy benefit plans
Educating client on CVS Health’s clinical programs and solutions to make recommendations for client implementation and adoption
As a Clinical Advisor, your success will be driven by maintaining above average client satisfaction scores and contributing to the account team’s ability to increase client revenue relative to clinical programs and solutions. You will partner and serve as a liaison with internal teams and other clinicians supporting clinical programs on behalf of the client to achieve these results. Superior writing and organizational skills as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines will also be paramount to your success. The contributions you will make as a Clinical Advisor will position CVS Health for long term growth in the competitive PBM marketplace.This position will be located in Phoenix AZ with possibility for hybrid work arrangement after period of training. You must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of managed care experience applicable to the role or 1 year of CVS Health or other Managed Care Residency program involving formulary and clinical benefit management
Active pharmacist license that is in good standing in state of Arizona
Experience supporting business specific to Medicare Part D/EGWP, and/or Commercial clients
Proficiency in using Microsoft applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Excellent presentation and oral/written communication skills
Commitment to client service and relationship building
Ability to travel typically 25% of the time. Travel may require but is not limited to flights, overnight stays, local travel, travel on short notice and other travel deemed necessary by the Company
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of experience supporting Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) clients or within Medicare Part D/EGWP field
Expertise in Formulary Management, and Utilization Management
Demonstrated proficiency with RxClaim and/or MHK
Experience in data analytics, including financial acumen
Knowledge of PBM adjudication engines and other systems leveraged in support of pharmacy benefit clients
Working knowledge of the different drug compendia adopted in PBM work
Strong business acumen
Experience in a client-facing role
Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize, and resolve complex problems
Experience managing template and/or customized formularies and PBM clinical pharmacy programs
Ability to support benefit teams in technical management of formularies and clinical benefits
Ability to learn multiple internal reporting, and analytical tools
AMCP Fundamentals of Managed Care Pharmacy Certificate or similar professional advancement
Education
Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy or PharmD
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,425.00 - $216,300.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
