WHAT YOU WILL DO
PGIM Real Estate's European Operational Risk Management team is responsible for assessing and monitoring risks to PGIM Real Estate's European business operations and for recommending and implementing risk controls that mitigate those risks. The team supports PGIM Real Estate's strategic business objectives by developing and maintaining effective and efficient risk management programs.
Reporting to the Conducting Officer in charge of Risk Management based in Luxembourg, this is a new role to expand the European team. The team is currently seeking a Senior Associate to execute on risk strategies related to PGIM Real Estate's European business operations. You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that business and Operational Risks, when weighed against business opportunities, are well managed and acceptable.
You will have the chance to get involved across variety of risk areas, including: operational risk, IT risk management, project governance, investment risk. Working with different areas of the business will provide you with the opportunity to gain cross functional experience and build your knowledge of key risk topic.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
As member of our Risk Management team, you will work hand in hand and report to the Conducting Officer in charge of Risk Management based in Luxembourg. A strong risk management framework is already in place therefore, your main tasks will be to:
Assist with operational risk programs, including but not limited to privacy, third party due diligence, end user computing solutions, regulatory requirements, insurance risk management, records management, business continuityAssist with executing all aspects of the Operational Risk Management Framework, including facilitating Risk and Control Self Assessments, documenting top risks and controls, developing action plans to address control gaps and providing effective challenge to the adequacy of controlsAnalyse and report operational risk events, identifying root cause of control breakdowns, developing remediation plans, performing scenario analysis reviewsContribute to implement, document and review the risk management framework and policies in EuropeEstablish and maintain relationships with Prudential and PGIM Risk Functions and PGIM Real Estate Businesses and Functional Leaders including, but not limited to internal audit, legal, compliance, operationsSupport the Luxembourg Conducting Officer of Risk by:Updating the risk management database;Ensuring the fund risk exposures are in line with the Fund Risk Profile and investment restrictions;Updating the risk reports and stress tests (market and liquidity);Preparing the reporting to the senior management and reviewing the minutes;ad-hoc risk related projects and;the preparation of the sustainability (ESG) risk report.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Minimum Bachelor's degree from a Business School or University preferably with a specialization in Risk, Finance, Accounting, or Economics3-5 years of related work experience in risk management, audit or similar function within the institutional asset management business or consulting firmSelf-starter, highly motivated individual who can work independently and is eager to learnGood interpersonal skills, team player, capability to interface professionally with various internal and external stakeholdersStrong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills, being able to summarize and communicate complex issues effectively, orally and in writingStrong MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills required and Visio a plusClear and strong English verbal and written communication skills required
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
Experience in working in an international and multicultural environment / have a global mindsetUnderstanding of the Luxembourg, German and UK regulated fund industry and preferably alternative fundsGood knowledge of the AIFMD and/or previous experience within AIFM, as well as privacy and other regulatory requirementsKnowledge of information security risk and controls (e.g. KAIT, Cloud Outsourcing, DORA) and experience on working with IT, InfoSec, operational, procurement and data protection stakeholders
