What you will do
In PGIM Fixed Income, our technology group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon under new senior leadership. We are in middle of a technology transformation to build a new platform on Cloud/AWS from ground up. The ideal candidate for this role owns and executes the data roadmap that is geared around placement and implementation of our investment and distribution data across enterprise data lakes, data warehouse and transactional and NoSQL databases. This person will optimize how data and applications are accessed globally. This will be a key role in our new technical initiative and will report into Enterprise Architecture. This position can be performed from our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration
What you can expect
Design and implement data models that reflect business requirements and ensure optimal performance, scalability, and data integrity in the cloud environment.Data Integration: Develop strategies and solutions for integrating data from various sources into the cloud, ensuring data consistency, quality, and real-time availability for analysis and reporting purposes.Help drive transformation of legacy platforms to modern cloud native technology and storage solutionsDesign and architect cloud-based data solutions, including data storage, data processing, and data analytics platforms, utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS).Create new approach to migrate data between various database platforms.Partner closely with data engineering function to architect best practice data ingestion, storage, and distribution practices for application consumption and data management at large scale.Align with development teams to create database/schema, structuresParticipate in the creation of the long-term strategy to optimize data environment.Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to optimize the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud-based data solutions, leveraging features and services provided by the cloud platforms.Establish and enforce data governance policies and practices in the cloud environment, including data classification, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance and leadership in implementing cloud data solutions.Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, tools, and services, and evaluate their suitability for meeting business needs. Recommend and implement new technologies to enhance the organization's cloud data capabilities.Documentation and Communication: Document cloud data architectures, processes, and best practices. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Implement robust security measures and data protection mechanisms to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data in the cloud. Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
What you will bring
15+ years of experience of programming experience in Python or Java with last five years in Python.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Proven experience as a Data Architect, with a focus on designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions.Strong expertise in AWS cloud platforms including services like S3, Redshift, Aurora, Glue, EMR, Event-Bridge, Lake formation etc.Experience with Snowflake is must.Extensive Experiences designing and building data ingestion and integration platform (ETL/ELT) using AWS Glue, Airflow, dbt, Matillion etc..Proficiency in SQL, data querying, and performance optimization techniques.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies like containers, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Strong experience with data structures, data modeling, data lineage and data catalogues.Experience with data security and privacy in the cloud, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with data protection regulations.highly desirableFinancial Industry experience is must. Asset Management experience is desirableStreaming or messaging knowledge with Kafka or Kinesis is desirable.Certifications in cloud platforms or data management (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect etc.) are highly desirable.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $150,000 to $225,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
