  What you will do

  As PGIM Fixed Income increases its focus on improving its technology infrastructure and modernizing its business processes, its reliance on high quality, consistent and accessible data is increasingly important. Improved governance of data has become a necessity to operate efficiently across all facets of the investment process. The goal of the Data Governance Office (DGO) is to implement a governance framework across PGIM Fixed Income for managing data as one of its most critical assets. DGO will provide principle-based data management guidelines, robust standards, and clear goals that will facilitate the firm's ability to deliver timely, accurate, and complete information to both internal and external clients. This will be accompanied by the incorporation of data ownership, accountability, and collaboration across business functions.

  The ideal candidate for this role will apply their knowledge of fixed income markets and products, and of data governance principles and standards to promote a culture of data ownership and accountability for producing high-quality, accurate, reliable, and timely data and for managing data as an asset that has value. Strong technical skills, and experience with data governance tool implementation, combined with leadership and collaboration skills will help the candidate advance our data governance program.

  This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely.

  What you can expect

  Work as part of the PGIM FI Data Governance Office to continue implementation of its data governance framework, policies, principles, and standards, to develop global information-based capabilities, and manage data as an asset.Serve as a liaison between key stakeholders including Technology, Quantitative Modeling Solutions, Investment Risk Management, Portfolio Analysis, Data Owners and Stewards, and Control Functions (Operational Risk Management, Privacy, Information Security, Compliance, etc.), to ensure that data-related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and understood, and all regulatory requirements and internal controls and policies are considered as part of planning and prioritization.Educate, support, and provide guidance to Data Owners, Stewards, Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and Consumers on the management of data and adoption of data quality controls, principals, and standards.Foster a culture of Ownership and Accountability for producing High Quality, Accurate, Reliable, and Timely data.Continually assess, identify, and communicate risks, ensuring accountability and mitigation within the data governance framework.Provide guidance for and assist with the development and implementation of data quality metrics and thresholds for communication to key stakeholders and ensure timely remediation of data quality issues.Assist with data improvements while ensuring continued accessibility, accuracy, and timeliness.Identify process deficiencies; maximize automation of manual data processes; partner with key stakeholders and IT to implement long-term strategic solutions that improve resource and time allocation.Provide guidance to Data Domain Owners and Stewards for the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, identification of Critical Data Elements, and the development of data lineage.Assist with the implementation of Informatica Cloud, helping to train all stakeholders on tool usage, including Data Catalog, Data Quality, Data Lineage and Data Provisioning modules, as well as on workflow processing within the tool.Partner closely with the Technology Solutions Group (TSG) and Data Architect to prioritize work needed in support of the Informatica implementation, including system access, build of connections, table scanning, data quality rules development, custom data lineage, and optimization of table scans to ensure data quality while minimizing costs.Partner with TSG's Data Governance Value Stream to prioritize work supporting data governance implementation and automation.

  What you will bring

  Bachelor's Degree required, with 10 years experience working in fixed income asset management.5 years experience working in a data related function such as data analysis, data management, and/or data governance.Familiarity and direct, hands-on experience with Informatica or Informatica Cloud, with knowledge of tool functionality will be given preference.Strong technical skills, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint, and programming ability in Visual Basic or SQL will also be given preference.Detailed knowledge of fixed income markets, with expertise in a wide range of products and of data utilized by the business and applications.Strong organizational skills, excellent management skills, and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with business, operations, and technology teams.High level of initiative and of setting and achieving challenging goals.Ability to work effectively and build strong relationships with teams throughout the organization.Ability to positively influence the commitment and results of resources not under direct control.Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.Effectively manage multiple tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.Professional integrity and strong work ethic.

  Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $150,000 to $190,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
