Performs the most complex professional level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated. The results of these exams are used to direct the course of patient care. The Sonographer encounters difficult problems related to examination evaluations daily and must resolve them with limited supervision. There is daily contact with professionals and families. All examinations are performed within standard protocols on fetal, pediatric, adolescent and occasionally adult age groups.
_Minimum Qualifications__ _
o *Minimum Education:* Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CHAAHEP) approved ultrasound program, Associate Degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or relevant health sciences field. Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound, Radiology, Biological Sciences, or relevant health sciences field preferred. o *Minimum Experience:* Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography imaging. Pediatric echocardiography experience. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography imaging preferred. o *Licenses & Certification*: Registered in Adult Echocardiography (AE) and Pediatric Echocardiography (PE). CPR certification required.Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
