Position Description
Kinder Morgan, Inc. is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and 157 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, CO2 and other products, and our terminals trans load and store liquid commodities including petroleum products, ethanol and chemicals, and bulk products, including petroleum coke, metals and ores.
Position Description
The Payroll Supervisor oversees the company's payroll processing and the daily functions of the payroll processing function in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal government regulations through direct supervision of the payroll processing staff. This position reports to the Payroll Manager in the Payroll department.
Responsibilities
Coordinating daily work activities, organizing and prioritizing department workload, auditing of work of payroll processors, monitoring status of work in progress and reviewing completed work.
Supervising the processing of special payments to employees per company policy including education reimbursement, relocation assistance and other payments as needed.
Providing leadership, training and counseling to achieve excellent customer service from the payroll processing team.
Responding to inquiries related to payroll processing.
Performing associated duties as required.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements
Minimum 5-7 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Strong knowledge of payroll principles, regulations, and practices.
Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position and escalate when needed.
Experience collaborating with others within Payroll and Human Resources departments.
Preferred Experience, Skills Sets
Associates/bachelor’s degree in accounting/or related field preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional license is a plus.
Smart Office/Lawson experience is a plus.
Strong communication and supervisory skills.
Ability to function in a fast paced environment.
Good organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Team player. This position is part of the Hybrid Work Schedule.
