  The Role:

  The opportunity has arisen for a UK Payroll Specialist to join this global company. The role would suit someone with proven experience in processing payrolls for companies with 2,000+ employees.

  As the Payroll Specialist, you will support the UK Payroll Manager in processing payroll for UK based employees and optimizing payroll system configuration to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery & tax compliance for employees currently based across UK. This is an exciting role with the ability to take on additional payrolls in Europe as business continues to expand. This role is fully remote so a successful candidate must have the organization, discipline and communication skills necessary to remain connected to a geographically disbursed team.

  Responsibilities:

  We are looking for someone who is "solution-focused" and experienced in working under pressure to meet strict deadlines and business requirements. The successful candidate must be a quick learner, flexible, and be able to adapt quickly to the Company, culture and environment.

  Process UK in-house end-to-end payroll on ADP iHCM2.Process information from the People Team for Starters, Leavers, and Financial Changes on Excel templates before uploading into the payroll system.Check sickness submissions, manually calculate SSP if applicable, and upload into the payroll system; produce SSP1 forms if required.Produce Maternity/Paternity/Adoption/ShPP payment planners manually and enter the data into the payroll system; produce SMP1 forms if needed.Calculate Holiday top-up values on Excel templates before uploading into the payroll system.Support the Payroll Manager with benefits and pension processing as needed.Complete Loss of Earnings forms for jury service and DWP enquiry forms.Process Attachment of Earnings orders.Process P45s, HMRC New Starter Checklists, and tax code changes from HMRC.Assist the Payroll manager with final payroll checks and timely production of the monthly BACS file.Process electronic Payslips, P45s, P60, and P11ds.Prepare and submit P46(car) to HMRC (quarterly submissions).Handle general payroll and tax queries and monitor the payroll inbox, ensuring timely and SLA-compliant responses.Prepare PAYE HMRC and third-party payments monthly.Complete monthly and quarterly National Statistics surveys.Coordinate Taxes/Social Charges, Pensions, and Insurance payments.Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements for payroll-related tax and social charges.Arrange payment of wages, taxes, and social securities; respond to HR and employee queries on supported payrolls.Provide daily advice to Line Managers and Employees on payroll-related queries.Conduct independent analysis to resolve payroll issues and provide recommendations for improvements.Develop relationships with external payroll vendors and internal departments like HR and Finance.Assist the Payroll Manager with ad hoc projects as needed.Liaise closely with outsourced payroll and tax vendors as needed.Identify and inform stakeholders about emerging process issues and trends.Review and update desktop procedure documents as necessary.Understand manual pay calculations and pro-rate base salary and other allowances.Support all internal and external audits related to payroll for system accuracy in gross-to-net calculations.Prepare funding reconciliations and instructions for Finance to arrange payroll funding.Accurately record and process new starters, leavers, and changes in payroll data.Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP) and average holiday pay.Work with the Payroll Manager to complete year-end payroll processes, including issuing P60s and P11ds.Collate information and report to finance.

  Required Experience:

  Extensive experience processing UK payroll is essential.Understanding how to computer manual pay calculations & enter the data into the payroll system for processing is essential.Proven experience with the ADP iHCM2 is essential.Strong excel knowledge using advanced functionality such as creating pivot tables, using VLOOKUP's, sum, sum-if, if functions, is essential.Ability to think critically, multi-task, prioritize work tasks and meet all deadlines is essential.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  In addition to the above it would be desirable if you had the following:

  Experience with the HRIS system Workday preferred.Be able, to learn and research new local country payroll requirements using tools and websites provided.Be flexible and able to work using own initiative.Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college, or equivalent. experience/combined education is preferred.Have a strong understanding of employee benefits, including salary sacrifice, as they relate to payroll withholdings and pension schemes.Strong knowledge regarding benefit in kind processing experience (P11D & Payrolling tax) is essential.
