Title: Payroll Senior Manager

Role Overview: The Payroll Senior Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and jointly oversee payroll processing (weekly and bi-weekly). This position will be the main point of contact for all union benefit submissions. This position will liaise with the departments to ensure salary expense is coded appropriately and all employee payments and record keeping are appropriate and timely. This position will require expert knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, including the Time & Attendance module, and reporting capabilities.
What you'll get to do here:
Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, FTE changes, PTO accruals, leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave, merit increases, benefit deductions, 401(k) and other compensation adjustments Support processes related to reimbursement to the organization from benefit carriers and UnionsEnsure timely and accurately transmitted payments to benefit vendors, unions, and other third parties as required by law or contract Provide input on the development of payroll policies and procedures and acts as a frontline resource to staff on questions of payroll policy interpretation Review and report on quarterly and year-end payroll and tax reports Monitor adherence to payroll policies and procedures and escalates issues as appropriate Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax, year-end financial statement and union auditsCoordinate with finance team to ensure general ledge transactions are coded appropriately and all benefit liability accounts are reconciled monthlyCreate efficiencies and works with ADP to enhance our payroll system and workflowsManage relationship with department managers to ensure employee maintenance of cost numbers and time and attendance practicesCoordinate with Union Representation to ensure reconciliation submission of union benefits and dues
You'll be a great fit if you bring:
Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years' experience in a direct payroll position that includes responsibility for preparing and submitting payroll preferred, or equivalent years of related experience requiredProven experience as a payroll manager or similar roleExpertise in the payroll software ADP Workforce Now (including Time and Attendance) & reporting Strong attention to detail and an analytical mind Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) and strong customer service. Organizational and leadership skillsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources or equivalent combination of education & experienceProficiency within managing Union and non-Union Payroll Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and tax laws and regulations in jurisdictions where the organization operates or employs staff Employee must be able to train on site (subsequently this will be a hybrid role)
