Withum Payroll Audit Supervisors are responsible for leveraging their skill sets and experience to meet clients engagements to perform audits of employer contributions to Multi-Employer benefit trust funds and related plans. As a member of the Payroll Audit leadership team the Payroll Auditor Supervisor responsibilities, including leadership of the Payroll Audit Department training initiatives to facilitate the development of new and existing staff. You will be responsible for the completion of large, complex and/or multi-Trust jobs as the in-charge auditor responsible for the planning and completion of the job. You are also a resource for Compliance Staff Auditors to clarify issues and answer general questions. In addition, you may be assigned client engagements to support the engagement Manager.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:
Traveling to employer locations, or working remotely, depending on client needs, to perform testing of employer contributions made to trust funds (employee benefit plans) to verify employer compliance with contract requirements Performing complex analysis of records to complete assigned testing procedures to meet testing objectives and Trust requirements Applying professional skepticism to all aspects of work product Working independently to complete large, complex jobs or, if assigned as in-charge, delegating to other staff, communicating objectives and procedures to be performed and monitoring progress of the job Communicating directly with employers to confirm scheduled appointments, coordinate requests for records, and discuss findings Communicating directly with Trust Fund service providers to facilitate meeting Payroll Audit clients engagement commitments Frequently working with Payroll Audit leadership to resolve audit questions and challenges Preparing payroll audit reports for management review Providing management with timely status updates on assigned work Providing new and experienced staff with on-the-job training, demonstrating proper workpaper techniques, responding to questions and performing file reviews Discerning between clerical and systemic errors in employer processes and, if necessary, determining how to modify test procedures Working independently but consulting with client Manager when appropriate Using knowledge, experience, and common sense in making decisions dealing with sensitive situations and ambiguous information Performing self-review of work and avoids minor workpaper review notes The Candidates We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Economics, or Finance preferred), Liberal Arts, or Information Systems. 5 – 10 years’ payroll audit experience, related auditing experience or equivalent Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. California ranges are from $80,000 - $105,000 annually
