Payroll Administrator Northampton, MA, US Requisition ID: 1161 JOBDESCRIPTION Title: Payroll Administrator Department: Finance FLSAStatus: Exempt Reports to: Assistant Director of Finance Office Purpose:Works with the Sr. Payroll Administrator to process the payrollfunctions of the organization, and assists in ensuring pay is processedon time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.Essential Functions: Assure the timely and accurate processing ofpayroll. Point of contact for time sheet questions or issues. Preparesand maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Assists in preparing audit records and documentation to auditors, stateretirement, and workers compensation. Interact with managers andemployees to answer questions, assist with paperwork, and resolve anypayroll issues. Assists in the preparation / reconciliation of workerscompensation and unemployment reports, as well as any other requiredquarterly government filings. Prepare and import monthly allocations forMSRB, MTRS, 457(b) plan, OBRA, HSA, and other deductions. Review andapprove PARS submitted and update profile in ADP. Review and respond toemails sent to Payroll email inbox. Train staff on use of ADP timecardand payroll system Liaison with Human Resources to manage new hires,terminations, and changes to employment status and benefits. FilingPayroll related files and documentation internally and externally asneeded. Additional Responsibilities: Collaborate with CES supervisors,Human Resources, and employees, along with State and Federal Agencystaff on payroll topics in a professional and timely manner. Assume anyand all additional responsibilities as assigned by the AssistantDirector of Finance. Minimum Qualifications: At least three to fiveyears of related experience required. Knowledge of payroll functionsincluding preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experienceworking with external payroll providers. Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or relatedsoftware Proficient with payroll software, Infinite Visions preferred.Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills. Possess excellentcommunication, problem solving and time management skills and be detailoriented. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Accounting,Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or 3 yearsminimum experience in Payroll processing Payroll experience required,current knowledge of payroll procedures, practices and tax applications.Possess working knowledge of benefits and their taxability. Has usedInfinite Visions and/or ADP to process payroll. Physical Demands: Ableto lift and/or move packages up to 25 lbs. The ability to move about theoffice to access file cabinets, office equipment including the constantoperation of a computer and other technology equipment. Frequentlycommunicate by phone, face to face, email, and video conference withemployees. Work Conditions: Requires working a flexible schedule duringpeak times of the year. Skilled in working both independently andcollaboratively. Able to work productively with frequent interruptionsand distractions. Ability to work remotely, if necessary.
