Payroll Accountant
We are partnered with a client in Greenville who is actively looking for a Payroll Accountant. As the Payroll Accountant you will be responsible for managing payroll processing operations in a solo capacity.
This includes establishing policies, processes, and systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and third-party payments) via ADP.
Responsibilities of Payroll Accountant
Overseeing the payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate records of employee compensation.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports, review system analytics to recommend improvements as noted
Prepare annual Workers Compensation audit records
Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions with managers and employees
Administers and coordinates timekeeping and payroll systems
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field; expert certification (e.g., CPP, CPM) is a plus
5+ years’ experience in Payroll
Experience with payroll software/ HRIS ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office and exceptionally proficient Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
Proven experience as a payroll specialist/administrator in an individual contributor (or similar) role.
Excellent understanding of multi-location/multi-state payroll, taxes, and legal compliance
Organizational, customer service and leadership skills
