As a Customer Service Agent, you’ll make every interaction a positive oneWhether helping with reservations or printing boarding passes, resolving disservice situations like determining alternative flight options or rebooking a reservation for delayed, cancelled or missed flights, you must be calm, cool and collectedTo be successful in this role, you’ll need patience, empathy, the ability to listen along with an ability to make informed decisions in sometimes stressful situationsCaring is job one regardless of our customer’s disposition or travel challenges. As a UGE Customer Service Agent, you will be required to remain calm, positive, and caring even when our customers might be having a bad dayOther duties include but are not limited to are: o Lift baggage and boxes/packages weighing up to 70 lbs. o Stand for up to 4 hours during a shift o Operate the passenger loading jet-way bridgeOn the Ramp
You will be working outside in all kinds of weather, as flying never steps because it rains, snows or is too hotYou must love physical activity, as you will be lifting as many as 100 items per flight, some weighing as much as 70 lbsYou’ll need a commitment to safety at all times, including an attention to detail and your surroundingsYou should be committed to caring for our equipment, aircraft, and bags as if they were your own (passengers can see you!) and providing excellent customer service for your fellow UGE employeesOther duties include, but are not limited to are: o Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and policies o Read/interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labelsYou’ll be provided the tools you need on the Runway to Success!
We provide paid training, including orientation, classroom, virtual, and on-the-job trainingOnce you’ve got the basics, you’ll load and unload aircraft and perform other duties such as de-icing, marshaling aircraft and driving a wide variety of mechanical equipment like cargo carts and conveyor beltsAs you grow in your career, you can explore other opportunities such team lead, become a supervisor or manager, corporate opportunities and moreYou’ll also have the ability to transfer to other locations within our amazing networkFlexibility
Since this is a union job based on seniority, you will be assigned your initial schedule to meet our needs at the airportYou must be available for day and night shifts, weekends, and holidaysYou will be required to work mandatory overtime, when necessaryAs you gain seniority, you can trade days with colleagues, pick up extra hours and have more control over your schedulePunctuality and reliability are essential – we’ve got flight schedules to meet!We reward your efforts
