Overview
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children’s Mercy is one of the largest full-service programs in the country and ranked as one of the nation’s top endocrinology programs by U.S. News and World Report.
Families can receive a wide range of care and support services to help children with endocrine disorders—problems with the body’s hormones and the various glands and tissues that produce them—lead healthy lives today and into adulthood.

Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes.
Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Direct care nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.

One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire
Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
