Job Description
We are seeking a Data Analyst within the Process Development team to support with database management, data mining, and trend analysis of process development activities. Under minimal supervision, this role will be expected to assist in updating process development databases, perform basic statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, univariate statistics, bivariate statistics, etc.), and assemble data summaries of their findings. The successful candidate will interface routinely with the technical operations organization and will be expected to provide critical feedback pertaining to the drug manufacturing process.
Please note that this part-time position will be based in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate for this position will be primarily remote, with occasional requests for on-site activities.
Roles and responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Data Analyst will center around navigating applications to harvest relevant data and consolidate/organize data within the process development databases. Routine database upkeep and data editing/cleaning is required. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in trending data generated from the drug manufacturing process runs and performing basic statistical analyses to assess key parameters and process robustness. Following a brief training period, the successful candidate will independently harvest data from various sources and organize within the process development databases.
Routine database upkeep and data cleaning is required.
Analyze individual datasets and trend process development databases to assess drug manufacturing process.
Interface with technical operations organization, analyze and present data when necessary.
Collaborate within process development, bioanalytical sciences, and quality control to meet project timelines.
Skills and Requirements
B.S. required. Current enrollment in a M.S./M.P.H. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related field is preferred.
0-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred.
Knowledge and working experience in database management (including routine data organization and data editing/cleaning).
Prior experience working with complex datasets, conducting basic statistical analyses is required.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and organizational skills required.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced development environment.
Strong computer skills and working experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) are required.
Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with management and peers and must be willing to work as part of a team. Prior experience working (or volunteering) in a life sciences laboratory setting and routinely analyzing experimental data is a plus.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly T cell therapies is a plus.
Working knowledge of statistical software (SAS, R, JMP, Graphpad Prism, etc.). null
