Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Painter. The hourly rate for this position is $22 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The shift will be Monday - Friday - 7:00am - 3:30pm
What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for painting, silk-screening, and color lining various components in an aircraft quality environment in accordance with MIL-SPEC, Customer Specification, and company requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Mask, apply paint with spray guns, syringes and silk screens to various products.
• Use various cleaners, primers and paints to create aircraft quality finishes.
• Understand and use of MIL-SPEC Paints such as lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes and their applications.
• Operate and maintain various painting and silkscreen equipment.
• Dispose of paint waste in accordance with various regulations
• Diagnose various paint problems such as solvent pops, fade out, orange peel etc.
• Assemble various products per routings, drawings and company procedures.
• Read and follow prints, routers and assembly procedures.
• Understanding various types of PPE, including how to use it.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
• In depth knowledge of painting equipment including paint mixers, spray guns, and silk screens
• Understanding paints and drying methods, painting Mil Specs
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
• Understanding of Chemical waste disposal and chemical related issues.
• preventive and normal maintenance of paint shop. I.E. Change filters, solvent disposal, spray gun maintenance
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Position requires use of PPE - Safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves as needed
Basic Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
• 1+ years' experience in trade as a painter or technical school with paint certification
• Resides within 50 miles of location
• US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred
• Technical degree from accredited institution for paint or similar trade.
• 3+ years' experience in trade as a painter
