Effectively balance a positive unboxing experience, product protection, manufacturability, material sustainability and cost.Use knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing process and transportation logistics to deliver exceptional packaging solutions against demanding design requirements.Come together and collaborate with multiple internal teams including Packaging Design Experience, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Management, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Marketing, Brand, and Quality and external partners including contract manufacturers and suppliers.Be accountable for the development and maintenance of packaging engineering drawings, specifications, packaging assembly bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).Problem solve during early development of packaging systems, propose technical solutions to achieve experiential packaging goals, and own analysis of testing failure modes and implement corrective actions to maintain development timelines.Manage multiple project streams and communicate regularly with program leadership and cross-functional development teams.Partner with internal operations teams and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacture and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are assembly-friendly.Be a proficient user of the Kongsberg cutting table for iterative design prototyping and of packaging laboratory equipment - drop tester, vibration table and environmental chamber.Support communication and weekly meetings with global teams and suppliers.What You'll NeedBasic QualificationsB.S. Degree in Packaging or Packaging Engineering3-5 years of industry experience in the consumer electronics or retail packaging development spaceExperience with 2D Packaging CAD software such as ArtiosCADExperience with CAPE or TOPS palletization software.Experience with 3D CAD design software such as SolidWorks, NX or equivalent.Experience with packaging testing equipment, drop tester, vibration, compression, environmental chambers.Experience navigating Google Workspace and Microsoft Office SuitesTravel up to 20% to visit Asian suppliers and bolster engineering build activities.Preferred QualificationsExperience delivering commercial packaging solutions from concept to productionExperience interfacing with Asia-based packaging suppliers and manufacturing facilities.Experience troubleshooting technical concerns and managing them through resolution.Knowledge of International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) testing specifications.Knowledge of fiber-based materials, corrugated, adhesives and other sustainable materials used for produc
