Minimum Qualifications Two years of college-level courses in (specificfield of biological science) and one year of experience related to thearea of assignment at the Biological Research Technician 1 level; OR anequivalent combination of training and experience. Additional RequiredQualifications Expertise in IK, including ethnobotany (ecology and usesof plants that are culturally significant to Tribal Nations), use ofcultural burning, and traditional land uses. Knowledge of Triballand-management practices. Soil science and ethnobotany field skills.Ecocultural restoration skills, including restoration of native plants.Ability to engage in project outreach. Strong, positive pre-existingrelationships with Montana Tribal administrators. Emerging leadershipand management skills. Demonstrable commitment to promoting andenhancing diversity. Position Duties 75% Assist with fieldwork datacollection, focusing on forest community ecology, which includesethnobotany, silviculture, soil science, and SOS seed collections. 25%Assist with developing relationships with Tribal Nations in Oregon.
