JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties Clinical: - Provides telehealth consultationand/or management to Veterans who participate in TeleEye Screening, TECSor other TeleEye services. - Provides quality patient care tooutpatients and inpatients as assigned. - Keeps informed of developmentsin the management and treatment of diseases and illness includingtelehealth care through continuing medical education, both formal andinformal. - Consistently demonstrates expertise in diagnosing andtreating seriously ill, multi-symptomatic patients. - Successfullyintegrates patient care activities within Optometry Service and otherpatient care programs of the Salisbury VA HealthCare System, as well aswithin and between spoke sites that partner with the VISN 6 TeleEye Hubbased at the Salisbury VA HCS Optometry Service. - Revises workschedules and assignments on short notice to meet frequent, abrupt, andunpredictable changes in prescribed workloads and deadlines to meetperformance targets. - Participates in multidisciplinary activitiesinvolving treatment plan and discharge of patients. - Participates as apeer reviewer when requested. - Provides other clinical services andduties as assigned consistent with clinical privileges.Administrative: - Works directly with the Service Chief, AssistantChief, or Section Chief to support development of measures, goals, andobjectives and to track performance, based on regulations, procedures,and policies. - Assists in the development and implementation of careprograms within Optometry Service and within the VISN 6 TeleEye Hub. -Participates in various programs designed to enhance and improve thedelivery of patient care services such as Continuous Quality Improvement(CQI) teams. - Participates and attends medical center and/or VISNcommittees as assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief, OptometryService and/or the TeleEye Section Chief.
