Some of what you'll be doing:
As the Operations Project Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in preparing for the anticipated growth of the SEA Capital Program and ongoing projects outlined in the Sustainable Airport Master Plan. You will have responsibilities that encompass project development and planning, involving collaboration with Port departments, tenants, and stakeholders.
You will participate and represent Aviation Operations for Terminal and Landside projects varying in scope and size.
You will develop, initiate, and participate in projects and programs that create a safe, effective, and customer friendly airport facility to ensure a quality passenger experience.
You will partner with other department leaders, airline managers, and federal agencies to make changes and improvements in the airport.
You will monitor and actively participate in project design reviews at different completion stages and provide feedback to ensure alignment with standards.
You will be responsible for the program and asset management of terminal amenities and develop and maintain conformance with seating standards to include power, ADA access, soft seating, layout design, flow, and defects warranty management.
You may respond to airport emergency situations as well as serve as an active member of Snow Team.
You will foster collaboration and serve as a subject matter expert and liaison to stakeholders concerning upcoming Terminal and Landside changes.
You will partner with Aviation Business Intelligence, initiate surveys, analyze data for inclusion into project justifications to make improvements in aviation trends and ACI ASQ scores.
Who you are:
Experienced – You have three (3) years of experience in airline or airport operations at a medium or large-hub commercial service airport performing aspects of project management or project coordination.
Educated – You possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Desired – We hope you have an American Association Airport Executives Certified Member Certificate and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

What else you need to know:
Driver’s License – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.
Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.
Work Environment – You will primarily work in an office environment.
Grade Review – The pay range and grade for non-represented positions are under review and subject to change as part of the Port’s work to implement a new pay program. This review is intended to ensure that positions are aligned with the new program that will be implemented in early 2024.
Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
