About the Team
The Mobility Central Operations team, in collaboration with the Regional teams, leads our vision, strategy, execution and tactics for our Operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Operations is all about running our business and helping our riders and driver partners get the most out of Uber's platform.
We are looking for sharp, highly motivated individuals to join our Central Operations team and be involved in a number of Driver / Rider / Marketplace operations in projects such as:
Pricing: making granular recommendations on the right pricing levels to make Uber affordable and reliableDriver: leading the supply growth strategy for the Hailables segment (Taxi, Auto and Moto) in EMEARider: launching, piloting and scaling new products and bets to consumers (Uber for Teens, Connect - package delivery, Moto, XShare - shared rides)Rider: lead the resurrection or experience improvements for all rider base in EMEA
You will be responsible for sustainably growing our business and for building scalable solutions designed to retain and better serve our driver partners and riders on the platform.
In this role you will have the unique opportunity to both design and execute on the EMEA roadmap, to work closely with other teams to solve complex business problems and to #BuildWithHeart. Most importantly, you will see the direct impact of your work on the experience our drivers and riders have on the platform.
What the Candidate Will Do:
Data analysis: develop a deep understanding of users & partners through data and identify segments we want to strategically focus on fixing. You will be responsible for building data driven recommendations to support strategy for the region.Design and run experiments: many ideas will be new and require testing to fine-tune the solution or move to full scale rollouts. You will need to design and run these experiments, with support from our analytics and CRM team.Build and implement plans to retain / scale our driver / rider base across new and existing markets working closely with teams across the business, including Global and Regional Ops, Product, Marketing and CRM.Work with Regional Ops and Product teams to identify engagement initiatives we want to scale across the region to drive additional value to our drivers / riders.Cross-functional collaboration: many solutions will require the support of other teams, such as product fixes, marketing or CRM-supported campaigns. You will need to work across many teams to achieve your goals.
What the Candidate Will Need / Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in technology/consulting/or other fast-paced operational environments.Strong analytical skills: You'll have experience dealing with complex data sets using Gsheet, Excel, SQL; validating insights and synthesizing recommendations.Project management skills: You have a proven understanding of the project management fundamentals, and can implement cross-functional projects. You are process driven & can convert ambiguous business requirements into structured business processes with standard operating procedures.Good communication and collaboration skills: You are good at working with diverse teams, understanding different perspectives and building solutions together.Strategic Approach: You are comfortable in the detail, but are also able to see the bigger picture and pivot strategically as the environment around you changesSee the forest & trees: Ability to think strategically and operationally, delivering the day to day while defining and leading the future direction. Ability to translate strategies into detailed execution plans and to take them to its desired outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications / Bonus points:
Python skills (pandas/ plotting - highly beneficial, basic understanding of ML/Optimisation techniques is a bonus)
