Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operational Technologies / Digital Factory Engineer. This position is based out of our Cleveland, TN facility. We are able to offer relocation assistance and sponsorship.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year.

The Operational Technologies / Digital Factory Engineer will develop, lead and plan Manufacturing Engineering initiatives which will result in significant advancements in productivity, product cost, quality and/or the maintenance of the plant facilities equipment and its production process. They will perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique design applications.
What you’ll do:
Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration at the Cleveland, TN plant and manage project objectivities and timelines.
Develop approaches to solving problems in processes, tooling, equipment, facilities, and cost utilizing Industry 4.0 methodologies.
Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities
Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives.
Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the CRDS site teams.
Establish and maintain project expense and capital expenditures with pre-established budgets and timelines.
Assist in the development of the technical, engineering and support talent.
Provide technical expertise or support related to automation and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics or Technical Science degree with 2 or more years of experience showing proficiency in programming robotics or other automation in support of manufacturing process.ORAssociates Degree of relevant field of study and minimum of 5 years of experience showing proficiency in programming robotics or other automation in support of manufacturing process.Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
Lean, OpA or MESH subject matter expert/category champion
Robotics, Automation and Controls Experience
Experience with AutoCAD
Knowledge of MRP systems and expert MS Office skills
Project Management experience with "Microsoft Project"
Skills:
Knowledge of electronic systems
Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics
Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
Proficient with computer and software tools – including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)
Ability to select and install PLC hardware and software
Ability to read & use wiring, connection, schematic, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot control systems
Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure
Knowledge/Experience with setup of Kepware OPC system (optional)
Knowledge or experience with electric safety devices (switches, fuses, breakers) Optional
Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders)
