ROLE SUMMARY
Bring strong scientific and communication skills, along with industry knowledge, to support the Oncology Scientific Affairs Lead and team in providing scientific, strategic and operational support to Pfizer Oncology in creating and communicating a compelling scientific narrative for external (e.g., investor) and senior internal (Board of Directors - BoD) audiences.
Support the Scientific Affairs Lead in monitoring Pfizer Oncology's strategy and performance across a broad spectrum of measures and assess peer strategy/performance to help inform the strategic narrative to internal and external audiences, focusing on investor relations.
Lead on coordinating rapid, thoughtful responses to content-related requests from across Pfizer Oncology (CSO, CDO, Medical, Commercial, BoD, Investor Relations, colleagues, etc.), ensuring buy in from the Scientific Affairs Lead where necessary.
Responsible for briefing Pfizer Oncology leadership to ensure they are well prepared for key internal and external meetings and presentations to maintain strong investor relationships.
Work alongside the Scientific Comms teams across Pfizer to ensure alignment in comms between internal, investor and HCP/scientific engagement.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the development a scientific communications strategy for investors, responsible for decision-making on a watchlist of key programs, R&D themes and emerging innovative science (based on their professional scientific and business experience and judgement), as well as executing plans for when and how to communicate them, through maintaining a steady cadence of investor events.
Prepare briefings and reporting including monthly briefing report for Pfizer Oncology extended leadership highlighting key internal accomplishments, external breaking science and media highlights.
Leverage knowledge of science & business to determine how non-HCP external stakeholders' (e.g., analysts, investors, media) needs should be incorporated in broader scientific communications strategies and plans, and work with the Pfizer Oncology Scientific Communications team to implement this.
Leverage knowledge of science & business to develop internal & external presentations for Pfizer Oncology senior leaders suitable for stakeholders ranging from scientific to non-scientific (incl. BoD and Executive Leadership Team - ELT).
Be responsible for planning and preparation for meetings for the BoD and Scientific committees, including overall framing/messaging, generation of pre-read and presentation materials, talking points; coordinate across multiple groups including legal to ensure accurate and consistent information.
Respond to requests for information, analyses, actions and decisions from the CEO, CSO, ELT, BoD, and other Corporate and external constituents in a timely, coordinated manner.
Stay up-to-date on emerging biopharma R&D and communications trends, monitoring peers, analyst reports and sentiment, and industry news; apply advanced concepts and principles to perform research, information gathering and analysis to prepare frameworks, innovative ideas, slides, and background materials.
Contribute to the development of the broader quarterly earnings presentation materials for investor audiences, such as preparing remarks, Q&A and talking points to support Pfizer Oncology's scientific narrative.
Build strong relationships with stakeholder in relevant groups (Oncology Science Affairs Lead, Scientific Affairs & Strategic Partnerships leadership team, Scientific Comms teams across Pfizer, Legal and Pfizer Enterprise Investor Relations Group) to allow engagement, influencing and negotiation in delivery of the above responsibilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in Biology, Chemistry, or other scientific discipline, or equivalent required. PhD is preferred.
7+ years of relevant BioPharma experience with a strong foundation in scientific communications, of which 4+ years of experience in crafting scientific presentations for executive audiences required.
Successful track record collaborating with executive teams to develop corporate messaging, positioning and scientific narratives.
Highly skilled at Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to multitask and deal with a large volume of requests / deliverables on a regular basis.
Ability to quickly/effectively prioritize and balance competing tasks in real-time.
Bringing a strong and advanced scientific mindset with broad exposure to diverse therapeutic areas and modalities, and foundation of scientific knowledge to work on scientific initiatives and presentations for Pfizer Oncology's leadership.
Ability to support the development a broad, big picture understanding across Pfizer Oncology functions so that this can be appropriately reflected in communications, presentations, briefings, etc.
Hybrid Role - must be on site 2-3 days per week

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $261,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
