We are seeking an Office Management Assistant for the 8773 department and the 8740 Senior Manager at our CA site. You will help run the day-to-day operations within a technology driven national research laboratory. Our Office Management Assistants are the face of their department and maintain a professional demeanor in a dynamic and busy environment. You will work independently and as part of a team, exercising initiative, managing multiple issues simultaneously, while handling constantly changing priorities.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Provide administrative support to two managers and their groups that work a combined schedule of remote and onsite work schedules. Support management on hiring processes, travel arrangements, meeting scheduling and departmental activities. Maintain multiple calendars, answer phone calls, make travel arrangements, submit travel expense reports, arrange meetings, coordinate and host visits.Support procurement activities: purchases of critical infrastructure hardware, software, and licenses, as well as office supplies and equipment.Assist with property and training coordination and serve as the information source on organizational policies and procedures.Arrange tours and coordinate accommodations for visitors from federal agencies, visiting managers, and other senior leadership (as needed and allowed per new federal guidelines).Partner with other administrative support staff in the Center, Division, lab-wide (in California and New Mexico), and with external customers to cultivate a collaborative environment.Support Classified Workspaces in the Limited Area as a CAS or Alternate CAS.
Qualifications We Require:
High school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based applications.Active DOE L-level security clearance required to start.Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE SCI security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship and a polygraph.

We focus on building and deploying a versatile set of situational awareness tools consisting of graphical web interfaces, translation processors, and specialized communication systems. Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
