DutiesProvides assessment and treatment of acute care in-patients at the Toronto Western Hospital
Provides evidence-based and patient centered practice to patients seen
Supports the development and implementation of best practice models of occupational therapy in the acute care setting at TWH
In cooperation with other members of the occupational therapy in-patient team, provides assessment and treatment for patients across the hospital as required, areas of coverage may include: emergency department, neurovascular, neurology, neurosurgery, general internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, geriatrics, ICU
Works with multidisciplinary teams
Participates in the clinical education of occupational therapy students
Participate in Allied Health meetings and quality initiatives
QualificationsCompletion of a Masters of Science degree (MSc) in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent
Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Previous experience in an acute care Hospital environment preferred
Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) certified
Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
Must be physically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care and occupational therapy treatment
Experience in assessment and treatment of general internal medicine patients, Ortho/Msk patients, and patients with Neurological deficits
Demonstrated appropriate and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists’ membership preferred
Computer literacy
