  We currently have Full Time and Part Time Night Shift Openings for Nurse Tech roles on 9Center!

  9Center is known as being a great unit to start an entry level patient care role and build great foundational skills.

  For Patient Population in this unit of the hospital: Primarily Adult Medical Patients. Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, and also Psychiatric Population. We are also one of 13 locations in the nation that has a space on our unit designated as a Special Pathogens Treatment Center.

  Job Summary

  Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.

  All shifts are 12 hours: 7 p.m. - 7:30a.m.

  Full Time: 3 nights per week

  Part Time: 2 nights per week

  Part Time: 1 night shift per week, with preference given to candidates that can work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, along with weekend rotations.

  Please note that we need more coverage beyond weekends and do not have weekend only roles.

  Orientation for the first week of employment as Nurse Tech requires daytime classes:

  Monday:

  Day 1 - NT Foundations 1 – Monday 8am -4:30 ALL New Hire NTs are required.Tuesday:

  NT Foundations 2: 8am-12:00: ALL NEW HIRE NTS are required.

  NT Basic Skills: 1pm - 4:30pm: All new hire NTs unless exempt due to experience. (Exempt - prior recent hospital NT experience, nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation)

  Wednesday/Friday:

  NT Sterile technique class 08:00-16:30- all except exempt students (Exempt- KCTC/OASID grads, nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation) 3rd week after start date - Monday- 08:00-4:30:

  Advanced Safety Care - all new hire NTs are required. Occasionally this 1 ASC class can be moved if taken within first 90 days. Essential Functions

  Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

  Provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider, consistent with clinical policies and procedures, and department standard work. Provides input in the development of an individualized plan of care. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

  Articulates the nursing technician role to the patient, family and health team members. Provides support to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.

  Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.

  Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.

  Qualifications

  Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  Experience is helpful/preferred

  CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or

  CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
