Corewell Health West is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care Team. CHW Urgent Care clinics evaluate and treat over 200k patients annually. Urgent Care is supported by a dedicated APP Leadership structure with established APP Director and APP Lead roles. Clinical expectations 3 days/week 8a-8p, every third weekend, one holiday annually. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of acute or primary care experience. Preference for previous urgent care or walk-in clinic experience.

PA/NP programs; 2+ years urgent care/primary care experience preferred.

Responsible for managing patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines within and outside the health system. Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s). Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of selected protocols/procedures. Provides educational support for patients/significant others, health team members and the community and coordinates QA/QI studies to measure outcomes of care.

Bladder catheterization
Essential Functions
Functions in the role of Advanced Practice Provider to coordinate comprehensive care delivery. Writes orders/prescribes medications, durable medical equipment, labs, radiographic studies, and consultations. Coordinates follow up care to primary health/ medical specialists to ensure appropriate continuity of care and coordination of services.
Obtains histories and performs physical exams.
Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs. Communicates, collaborates, networks, and acts as a consultant to other members of the health care team within and outside Corewell Health.
Acts as a consult in area of expertise.
Maintains current knowledge and skills in areas pertinent to the delivery of urgent care medicine.
Able to perform all laboratory tests provided on premises in urgent care environment. Performs and assists with designated procedures.
Documents in the medical record and dictates information as appropriate in a timely manner. Completes all necessary documentation to provide accurate and efficient billing for services.
Provides input into the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of service/program.
Qualifications
Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience Required
