The Nurse Manager for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) - P4B will be responsible for the Main Campus and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operations.
The ideal candidate will have a BSN, five years of nursing experience to include 1 years of Supervisory/Charge Nurse experience in Endoscopy, Procedural, or Operating Room (OR).
Transformational Leadership and Structural Empowerment
Transformational Leadership: The Nurse Manager is accountable and responsible to assist the Associate Director and the Clinical Nurse Leader in providing leadership to support the vision of the unit and to transform the unit's values, beliefs, and behaviors to meet the demands of the future.
a. Participates in the implementation and monitoring of the unit budget to respond in a cost effective manner to changing patient, staff and inter-professional team requirements

•Assists in preparation and delivery of unit staffing plans considering skill mix, staff and patient care requirements

a. Assists the Associate Director in human resource activities for all clinical and clerical staff including retention, supervision, evaluation and productivity

Education
Required : Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Preferred: Master's of Science in Nursing
Experience
Required: Five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
Licensure/Certification
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
