Reporting to the Director of Maternity Suites
Our Maternity Suites Nurses provide care to Mothers and infants after delivery in private recovery rooms, known as couplet care, to a diverse patient population. As the Educator you will provide leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.
Responsibilities:
Provides a cost-effective comprehensive competency-based program inclusive of internship and orientation, and ongoing and new competencies.
Conducts annual and ongoing assessment of educational needs based on changes/advances in practice standards, technology or therapies, and prioritizes appropriately.
Reviews departmental policies and procedures for adherence to recognized standards of care and revises as needed.
Collaborates with nurses to develop a practice environment that supports shared decision-making and integration of the quality caring model.
Oversee complex or difficult cases to manage costs and outcomes; and facilitates the transition of patients and families across the continuum of care.

Required:
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Master’s degree – clinical or non-clinical focus required
Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience
National certification in clinical specialty required – must be acquired by the end of the probationary 6th month period to remain in the role. Role certification preferred.
AHA BLS Certification
Preferred:
AHA BLS and/or ACLS Instructor Status preferred.About us:
