The Nurse will work as part of the School Health team with responsibility for the healthcare needs for students PS -G12 ( 3yrs-18yrs) and to care for the health and well-being of children, adolescents, faculty and staff. This is a permanent position with a 10-month work schedule. The Nurse will work to ensure equitable healthcare for all students at school, these will be underpinned by,

Main duties and responsibilities
Provide health services to students, faculty and staff who are injured or ill while at school.
Case management for students with chronic health issues. Inform teachers about specific health problems or disabilities of individual students.
Liaise effectively with the school counseling department.
Must be willing to ensure safeguarding training is completed effectively.
Communicable disease control through immunization, screening, health education and enforcement of Singapore Ministry of Health law.
Emergency assessment, care and referral with subsequent follow up. Document emergency care in progress note and prepare accident report when indicated.
Liaise with outside clinics, hospitals and health care providers.
Identification of environmental health and safety hazards with recommended preventative measures.
Health counseling, referrals and follow up for various health-related issues.
Maintain all records and correspondence in an organized and accessible manner.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all student health records.
Enforce and ensure compliance with school regulations pertaining to safety, security, and proper usage of school property.
Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures as related to the job responsibilities of this position.
Relate courteously and effectively with students, parents, school personnel, government personnel, and community members as necessary.
Perform other heath functions and do these as assigned by division Principals or Superintendent, such as drug testing.
Provide in-service teaching/training as required.
Identify students with health needs requiring a Special Services Meeting (SSM).
Organize first aid kits and relevant medications as per school policy for school trips
Attend meetings as requested for the preparation of off campus student trips.
Show willingness to go on overnight school excursions.
To be flexible with work hours and be willing to work across all campus health clinics should the need arise.
Develop individualized Emergency Health Care Plans/Medical Health Plan for students with severe allergies or other potential emergency needs, such as diabetes, seizures or history of cardiac pro.
Maintain and periodically check emergency equipment such as Automatic External Defibrillator AED, Oxygen Tank, and wheelchair.
Prepare annual budget for medical supplies and educational needs.
Maintain Inventory and stock medical supplies.
Collaborate with faculty and students to promote awareness through health campaigns/health curriculum on topics that are appropriate for the students at each division level.
Complete student screening such as vision screening and scoliosis screening on an annual basis.
Keep up to date with your current registration, arrange or attend professional development for Nurses ensuring you are knowledgeable of current nursing research related to your areas of practice.
Identify needs and prioritise work appropriately to manage the delivery of the service.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Licensed in country of training and registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (Annual renewals of both licenses are required).
Previous experience of working in a school is preferable or accident and emergency nursing experience would be desirable.
Ability to make independent medical judgments based on assessments and current standards of practice, identify needs and prioritise work appropriately to manage the delivery of the service.
Excellent IT skills.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
Positive work attitude and initiative. Must be willing to be flexible and work throughout the various health clinics on campus where the need arises and is requested by the Lead Nurse.
