The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Nuclear Enterprise Risk & Opportunity Management Analyst working onsite at a location in the Arlington or Falls Church, VA. The potential candidate will provide subject matter expertise to support the development and maintenance of a data-driven, risk-based framework that depicts the integrated timelines, risks, and opportunities across major DoD nuclear deterrent sustainment and recapitalization programs. This position will provide risk & opportunity management analysis for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters and the Principal Director to develop and maintain a process to identify, capture, and track integrated risks, as well as aggregate or cumulative technical, geopolitical, operational, and programmatic risks associated with the nuclear deterrent enterprise, to include sustainment, modernization, and future planning.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate as directed with the Services, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Agency, US Strategic Command, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other existing or emergent Department of Defense entities (i.e., Nuclear Deputy's Management Action Group)
Provide principal-level subject-matter expertise, guidance, and advisory services to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters for nuclear enterprise risk and opportunity management
Assist the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters in making decisions regarding nuclear enterprise risk and opportunity management, analysis, and actionable recommendations
Develop guidance, recommendations, and suggested actions to act upon identified risks and opportunities and participate in communications with other concerned entities to develop viable mitigations or exploitation plans
Provide improved insight about how to prioritize and manage enterprise risks and opportunities
Attend and record minutes for scheduled meetings
Process documents, data, and reports as needed to support client requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience is required
Ability to impart technical and financial modeling expertise to non-technical clients and stakeholders
Ability to promote the importance of risk management by demonstrating value it generates at both the program execution and strategic levels
Applicant must hold an active Top-Secret security clearance and be eligible to access Sensitive Compartmentalized Information to apply for this position

Highly Preferred:
Demonstrated experience implementing modeling and simulation tools for cost and schedule risk impact analysis of nuclear weapons modernization, sustainment, or life extension programs
Experience with quantitative risk analysis software and system
