Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
Job Description
We are:
The Clinical Neurophysiology Faculty at MSK are board-certified neurologists, all of whom have done clinical neurophysiology fellowships with emphasis on intraoperative monitoring. The faculty perform intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring, interpret EEG, as well as perform and interpret EMG/nerve conduction studies. We are a major training site for the Cornell Clinical Neurophysiology program and have trained fellows for over a decade. In addition, we have experience in training and mentoring new IOM technicians.
As a Neurophysiology Technician, you will:
Be responsible for Intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) , which is the application of somatosensory evoked potentials, motor evoked potentials, brainstem auditory evoked potentials, electromyography, cortical and subcortical stimulation, and quantitative electroneurocepholographic recording techniques to detect changes in the functional status of neural structures at risk during surgery.Perform inpatient and outpatient nerve conduction studies under the supervision of a fellowship trained neurologist.Maintain the log book and perform redcap database entry for all EEG and IOM cases.
You have:
Take initiative to complete work, tackle problems, communicate issues and suggest efficiencies.CNIM certification required first 6 months after being hiredAn Associate’s degree/Certified Vocational Training in Electroneurodiagnostic technology, Electronic Technology, Computer Systems.2-4 years of experience with Intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM)
or nerve conduction studies.Knowledge of windows-based software, intraoperative video, computerized and supervising equipment function and troubleshooting techniques.Experience with inpatient and outpatient EEG and nerve conduction studies, strongly preferred, but can also be trained at MSK.
Hours: Vary between 7am-7pm, Monday-Friday. Flexibility for overtime
