As a Network Optimisation Analyst within 3P Transportation, you will have the opportunity to drive improvement for Amazon’s Delivery Services business in Australia. This role will help to ensure our delivery promises to our customers are fulfilled on time and that we continuously improve Amazon Australia’s delivery experience on behalf of our customers. You will be an integral part in creating and implementing strategic initiatives to drive delivery optimization, delivery speed, transportation cost, and quality – all with the goal of better serving our customers. There will rarely be a perfect solution, so it will be up to you to make data driven decisions and manage stakeholder relationships while planning and executing within an ever-changing environment.
The role demands strong analytical and mathematical capabilities as well as the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships. The candidate will analyse various supply chain data and metrics to define configurations to optimize our first and last mile 3P transportation processes.
This role can be performed from either Sydney or Melbourne.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and review transportation metrics to bridge performance misses and identify/execute actions to improve performance.
Working with delivery services teams and supply chain to identify opportunities to lower 3P fulfillment cost whilst improving customer experience.
Conduct simulations to model the impact of new configurations prior to execution. Effectively communicate change and monitor post implementation to assess effectiveness and lower the risk of unforeseen outcomes.
Own key input and output metrics for fulfillment cost and own a program of actions that drive improvement to deliver best in class operations.
Dive deep into data using Amazon simulation tools to identify opportunities to improve 3P fulfillment strategy considering cost, speed, and network design.
Effectively communicating, collaborating and influencing team members, working with other business groups, and presenting projects to senior leadership on a regular basis.
Partner with the global teams on system feature/logic improvements, and with local team on process improvements.
Initiate and support the implementation of process-improvements, both the business processes and the technical solutions.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to drive strong cross-functional engagement with both internal and external teams.
Track-record of delivering end-to-end projects autonomously, working through many obstacles along the way.
Capacity to write well-reasoned and data-driven proposals, performing own data analysis as necessary.
Owns responsibility for organization’s success, thinking and acting beyond immediate team or area of focus.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics. Mathematics, Economics, Business or similar field from an accredited University.
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
Proven experience working in a fast-paced, highly complex analytical environment preferably in Supply Chain, e-Commerce, Consulting or Finance.
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL.
Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Experience driving process improvements.
Highly analytical and capable of communicating effectively with customers and senior management.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
