About Network Operations Specialists

  Description

  The Leidos Defense Group has openings for Network Operations Specialists located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA, Beale AFB CA, Newport News VA and Warner Robins GA. These positions are apart of a large Military Intelligence Program supporting the USAF Air Combat Command’s Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS). The Leidos Digital Modernization group provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions. From scanning for illicit material at ports and borders to predicting future events and instability up to five years in advance, our products help customers make the world safer.

  Responsibilities could include:

  Plans, implements, and operates network services/systems, to include hardware and virtual environments supporting DCGS experimentation, exercises, demonstrations, and tests.

  Designs, builds, and implements network systems. Installs, configures and optimizes network hubs, routers, and switches.

  Prepares records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance.

  Monitor network capacity and performance and diagnoses network connectivity problems.

  Installs, tests, and maintains network infrastructure device operating system software and hardware.

  Implements new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Integrate new systems into existing network architecture.

  Ensures security patches integrated into system design.

  Patches network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties.

  Develops and implements network backup and recovery procedures.

  Qualifications could include:

  Bachelors Degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience is required. A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  DoD Directive 8570.1-M and other position certification requirements vary and may include a one or a combination of the following: Security+, CISSP, ITIL v3, CASP+, PMP, CND,SAFe Agilist, or GICSP certifications.

  TS/SCI security clearance required.

  Previous AF DCGS weapon system experience is highly desired

  Pay Range:

  Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

  The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
