Role Overview
The Network Engineer role reports to the head of Network Operations and is a multifaceted position within the BIMs infrastructure team. The candidate will work to ensuring operational stability of the entire BIMs network, Implement new technology and aid in constant improvement of the architecture.
The Environment
The BIMS Network Engineering team supports a global high-availability network with 4 sites located globally. The network Infrastructure is built on Cisco, Checkpoint, and NetScaler with approximately 100 devices globally. The network supports a web-facing Citrix environment as well as various market data sources and FIX order routing traffic.
ResponsibilitiesWork with clients to establish connectivity to the BIMs platformEnsure proper implementation of all network changes in coordination with other teamsTroubleshoot internal and external network-related issuesDeliver the global infrastructure refresh projectMaintain accurate inventory of devices, circuits, and software in our CMDBCreate and maintain detailed documentation of the BIMS networkDevelop and document operations support workflows and processesDevelop tools and processes to automate deployments and ensure zero system downtimeEnsure routine maintenance is completed and documented (firmware updates, code updates)Work closely with Network teams in other business silos to ensure 24x7 coverage and create cost efficienciesYour ProfileBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent6 plus years of experience in a similar roleExperience supporting networks within Financial or Fintech organizationsProven hands-on experience in Cisco switching, Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls, NetScaler load balancerExperience with networks supporting VMware and CitrixIn-depth experience with multiple network protocols: BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, GRE, etc.Experience troubleshooting Market Data traffic (unicast/multicast) as well as FIX based messaging.Excellent communication skillsAbility to work independently.Experience architecting and implementing robust network infrastructure.CCIE certification is a plusITIL certification desired#LI-KA2 #LI-Hybrid
