This winning brand has been experiencing strong growth, a trend it's expecting to continue mostly through its leadership in the refrigerated dinner and breakfast categories. Bob Evans Farms products are distributed nationally in retailers throughout North America. Responsibilities Statement of Purpose The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of local and wide area networks. This role interacts directly with business and IT team members to design and implement network solutions that meet business objectives. This role is critical to the ongoing monitoring, support, and maintenance of networks with a focus on security, performance, stability, and availability. This role requires a detailed understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, WIFI, and Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto network devices. This role also plays a critical role in ensuring the security of Bob Evans Farm’s data and systems. Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities Works under the supervision of the Manager of IT Infrastructure and Operations with responsibilities for local and wide area networks. Participates in the design of complex, highly available solutions to support the enterprise in line with strategic business initiatives, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Designs and implements new network solutions and/or improves the efficiency of current networks Installs, configures, and supports network equipment including firewalls, routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN circuits, DNS, and DHCP Protects enterprise data and systems via the design and implementation of firewall rules, routing, and switching. Optimizes network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Stays abreast of current networking technologies and methodologies Monitors and supports network systems to achieve availability and reliability SLAs Assists with project scoping and technical task planning. Responsible for security patching of network infrastructure and ensuring systems adhere to security policies and baselines. Provides technical support for networks, including out-of-hours support when required. Qualifications Detailed understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto network devices. Possesses knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. Experience configuring wireless networks and access points (e.g. Meraki) required Ability to utilize monitoring tools to analyze network consumption and diagnose network issues. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities across operations support and multiple projects Good communication and interpersonal skills Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good analytical and decision-making skills Pro-active attitude and ability to work with limited supervision. Network certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+) are considered desirable for this rol BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions, in addition to applicable network administration experience
