Job Description
Candidates should have:
Degree level education or equivalent experience in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science or a numerate based subject.
Minimum of CCNP or equivalent level of knowledge.
7+ years relevant Industry experience.
Strong analytical and network troubleshooting skills for both networks and systems.
Exceptional understanding of fundamental Network concepts (e.g. Routing, Switching, DNS, Firewalls etc.).
Expertise in IP networks, network virtualization technologies and network applications
Highly skilled in network hardware and OS of multiple vendors (NGINX, Cisco, Juniper, F5 etc.)
Strong L2/L3 networking skills (OPSF, BGP, VPC, MC-LAG, VLAN, STP etc.)
Experience in a network operations role
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to work both independently and with members of a distributed team without close supervision
Experience with supporting Network function in cloud-base platform (e.g. Oracle OCI)
Strong documentation skills.
Demonstrable understanding of ITIL & Agile frameworks.
A minimum of 5+ year’s experience and advanced skills in several of the areas listed below:
Networking & Switches such as Cisco Nexus, Juniper QFX/SRX series & F5.
Experience with diagnostic tools such as iperf, traceroute, dig, curl, ssh, Wireshark, Network Logs, Lumberjack, tcpdump, Thousand Eyes, Network Monitoring/Troubleshooting Tools, Network Performance, Terraform
Designing or engineering highly available IP network
Experience in network monitoring and telemetry solutions
Experience in Infrastructure automation through Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Packer or similar
Using Change Control tools to handle the workflow
Exposure to supporting the network in large, virtualized environments with NAS and Database technologies.
Experience of performance monitoring and capacity management
Prior experience in data center familiarity desirable
Crucial awareness of operations in a secure environment
You'll typically work a standard week and flexibility in working hours is required. You may be on call outside office hours, at weekends or in the evenings, and need to be flexible in case of major technical problems occurring.
Added Advantage:
OCI Certification Foundation / Architect / professional is an added advantage.
Experience in public or private or Hybrid cloud like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Rackspace, VMWare
Experience in virtualization technologies a plus; VMWare, Xen, KVM or Hyper-V
Responsibilities
Maintain records of equipment failure and liaise with engineers and suppliers as necessary. Raise client problems according to established procedures. Handle the network using network management tools, analyze network performance and recommend network enhancements. Analyze network performance to ensure adequate bandwidth for business needs. Recommend enhancements to the network infrastructure, and with management agreement enhance proactive network management tool set. Troubleshoot network problems on the campus network, remote locations and country wide area network though to resolution. Perform Project Engineering including specification definition, design of solution in compliance with corporate standards, implementation, testing through to production. Respond to monitor alarms to identify the root cause of an outage and coordinate the corrective action in a timely fashion. Provide on-call support services as needed and provide assistance to others.

US: Hiring Range: from $33.94 to $67.93 per hour; from $70,600 to $141,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
