Network Administrator and IT Specialist
The Network Administrator and IT Specialist will be responsible for maintaining EdgeConneX global networks. These networks are high-availability, scalable and high-performance. This position is based in Herndon, VA and has a in-office) schedule, reporting to the VP of IT.
Primary Responsibilities
Day to day operations of EdgeConneX's global backbone network, data center network, and edge network
Operation and optimization of EdgeConneX's global networks.
Ticket response and resolution regarding network issues
Maintaining, Deploying, and Monitoring virtual infrastructure running on VMWare.
Maintaining storage arrays used for production and archiving needs.
Work with cross-functional teams including but not limited to compute, storage, database, recommendation, and drive the innovation and evolution of EdgeConneX network
Expertise in network operations and buildout with deep domain knowledge in network and systems.
Operational knowledge of mainstream network devices (Cisco)
Experience in running a large-scale network and computer systems is plus
Support for users and customers across the range of EdgeConneX technologies such as but not limited to Windows OS, Printing, VPN troubleshooting, Office Suite, Directory services.
Self-motivating, good at communication and coordination, thrive in processing complex situations and team collaboration
Purchasing, delivery and installation oversight for IT Equipment.
Documenting projects and processes from start to finish.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communications, both written and verbal, in coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.
Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.
Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities/tickets.
Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers

Strong attention to detail
Experience/Education
3+ years working knowledge with Cisco Switches
3+ years working knowledge in VMWare (ESXi, vCenter)
3+ years working knowledge of Windows (Server and Client OS), Linux
3+ years working knowledge of storage devices such as a Dell MD3200 or Nimble
3+ years Experience working with end user IT troubleshooting.
3+ years administering Office 365 and Azure services. (Such as Azure AD)
3+ years working a ticketing system such as Service Desk Plus or Service Now
Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, EE, or related fields
Strong knowledge and experience in all things IT will provide expanded opportunities.
Candidates with experience in PBX and Call systems such as FreePBX, Asterisk, and/or in the Data Center industry are strongly encouraged to apply

EdgeConneX offers a competitive benefits package. The preferred pay range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Compensation will be finalized after consideration of the successful applicant’s prior work experience, education level and relevant education, and unique skills.
