As a team, we are responsible for the development of Net Zero Transition focused data solutions for Bloomberg, and work across key climate initiatives.
The Role:
As part of the Net Zero Research & Data Team you will have an enormous impact on supporting the global financial sector's work to stop climate change and ensuring that financing and capital allocation decisions occur in ways that enable the world to reach net zero by 2050 in line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
We'll trust you to:
Manage large and complex data projects related to climate datasets, with a particular focus on company specific GHG emissions and emissions reduction targets Conduct in depth research into upcoming climate-related disclosure standards and translate those requirements and recommendations into a data model Serve as a subject matter expert to drive our deliverables and navigate across internal and external partner groups Apply subject-matter-expertise to develop and manage key data strategies Maintain a presence in the industry through networking and leading at conferences and events. Make strategic decisions under pressure and operate with flexibility in a changing environment
You'll need to have:
BA/BSc in Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, Political Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative science 5+ years of experience working within the climate science, climate finance or climate policy space Deep knowledge of climate-related disclosure frameworks such as GHG Protocol, SBTi, and PCAF, with strong preference for familiarity with GHG emissions accounting and emissions reduction target setting A collaborative approach and exceptional relationship building and communication skills - both written and verbal
We'd love to see:
Master's degree in, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, Mathematics, MBA, or related field preferred/CFA or CAIA designation Knowledge of statistical analysis and demonstrated applied data analysis skills, with proficiency using Excel as well as experience with SQL or Python Awareness of the climate-related disclosure landscape, with knowledge of climate-related disclosure standards such as ISSB and EFRAG Ability to read/write in a language other than English Previous work experience with the Bloomberg TerminalPlease note we use years of experience as a guide but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.If this sounds like you:Apply if you think we're a good match!
