The Neighborhood Networker serves as a community connector who focuses on in-person outreach. Their prime goal is to unify the neighborhood by naturally connecting individuals to events,organizations and individuals that will improve their quality of life. Methods include but are not limited to:Meeting,befriending and connecting with community members and neighbors,both formally and casually,including organizing community events and initiatives.Getting to know managers in apartment complexes to improve communication opportunities with tenants,as well as overall interests of the community.Creating and distributing a neighborhood calendar featuring neighborhood events via in-person,online groups and signage.Supporting OgdenCAN and its interns by specifically focusing on their events in conversations,calendars and signage.Being aware of neighborhood priorities so events,organizations and individuals that support those priorities can be created and advertised.Attending community functions as a way to stay educated and connected with community resources.Frequenting community spaces so conversations and event sharing can happen organically.Creating opportunities for community connections and development,as needed.Gathering community feedback to improve neighborhood communication,connection andevents.Conveying neighborhood needs/ideas for events to interns for potential community projects.When assigned,acting as host of OgdenCAN community events,for example,the monthly Community Breakfast.Participating in annual training regarding OgdenCAN communication guidelines.Other duties as assigned.As part of their role as a resource and mentor for interns,when assigned,a Neighborhood Networker may facilitate a community leader peer-support group where interns workthrough the OgdenCAN community leader curriculum and organize neighbors around individual community-building projects in an 8-month,project-based program. This positioninvolves local travel and remote-work.This is a grant/contract funded position. The continuation of the position is contingent upon the renewal of funding each fiscal year.
