This role leads all aspects of the customer relationship: Strategic planning, distribution, execution, visibility, and promotion. This role works directly with Category Development, Shopper Marketing, Activation, Revenue management, Performance and Distributor teams to achieve our financial and performance goals.
The NAM will be responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of the Diageo Spirits AOP, Market Share, RSV$ and execution goals within a portfolio of 5 chain customers: (Meijer MI, Hy-Vee IA, Target MN, Stater Bros CA and Smart & Final CA).
This role reports directly to the Sales Director, Regional Accounts West and will be based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Key Outcomes:
Deliver AOP and Performance goals, including financial, volume, and share targets.Develop strong relationships with each customer, wiring Diageo effectively into the buying, merchandising, marketing, operations, and executive teams.Develop and implement AOP for each chain customer, aligning Diageo growth goals and opportunities, and prioritizing accordingly.Develop, sell-out and communicate quarterly programming plans, assortment reviews, innovation opportunities, and customer-specific initiatives that support the plan.Lead the communication process across a cross-functional team, which includes Shopper Marketing, Category Development, Sales, Revenue Management and Distributor partners.Work closely with Diageo Performance Management team, Chain Development Director, and Distributor partners to ensure magnificent execution of customer initiatives.Lead opportunity and risk assessment process throughout the year to ensure course correction as needed to hit the AOP.Lead strong internal processes for forecasting, promo planning and M&E in line with agreed plans.Demonstrate fiscal competence, handling to be approved spending and overhead budgets.Demonstrate strong dedication to Diageo’s internal compliance policies.Negotiate and implement the annual JBP’ with the customers.
Qualification and Experience Required:
4-year college degree required (MBA or equivalent degree preferred).Demonstrated ability of 5+ years with specific calling on regional or national account customers in multiple sub channels (grocery, convenience, specialty), preferably in Alcohol or 3-tier categories.Self-motivated, strategic, goal-oriented, with a passion for winning.Strong organizational, communication and influencing skills are required.Shown success influencing and negotiating customer strategy and execution.Deep understanding of sales analytics with IRI or Nielsen experience preferred.Flair to work effectively within a matrix organization.Track record of financial success running a large portfolio through net revenue management.Track record of working with Brokers, Wholesalers and Distributors.
