Job Description:
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates risks. Determines appropriate terms and conditions for coverages and rates for program profitability. Contributes to the profitable growth of specific program(s) by maintaining pricing integrity, product excellence, and the development of meaningful performance metrics and controls.
Underwrites risk (i.e., selection/rejection of existing and renewal business). Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly. Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, laws and regulations. May review books of business as well as profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Manages a team of Portfolio Managers.
Reviews financials of existing loans and makes recommendations for annual reviews/renewals and/or modifications.
Performs the functions of the position with only periodic oversight and is expected to perform with general supervisory intervention.
Underwrites and manages a portfolio.
Works closely with business units in order to put together resource plans and coordinate on projects to ensure success.
Creates efficient processes for reporting on and potentially escalating resource contention, technical dependencies, and other types of project/portfolio risks.
Leverages tools and improve processes for portfolio efficiency.
Ensures overall portfolio performance and asset quality remains strong and is able to independently address and develop strategies and actions to resolve issues that could increase risk and/or create loss for the Company.
Interacts with Senior Management, Sales Team, Credit Products Officer, Credit Officer and/or MAD / CRM, in order to discuss and resolve risk related issues.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent field. (Req)
Master's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent field. (Pref)
Work Experience:
Experience with multifamily Commercial Real Estate in a lending, underwriting and/or portfolio management capacity.
Experience with financial analysis and credit structuring, understanding and applying credit policy.
9-12 years of professional experience.
Management experience.
Strong credit and documentation experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in proposing and negotiating and approving credit and covenant structures.
Ability to manage a team.
Ability to demonstrate practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis.
Knowledge in financial modeling and able to structure credit in modeling environment.
Exhibits competency at independently reaching conclusions and forms clear view of credit structure and business risk to Company.
Thorough understanding of industry nuances applicable to the credits contained within group’s portfolio.
Thorough knowledge of loan and related legal documents.
Strong communication skills; and ability to influences others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutions.
Word, Excel, Power Point, spread sheet modeling, and presentation development and delivery skills.
Advanced knowledge of different financial modeling systems and ability to coach others on use of internal systems that may include CRM Dashboard, IBM Content Manager, AFS Servicing and Originations and Moody's Risk

Working Conditions:
Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $140,000-$175,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
