Scope
ESSENTIAL DUTIESCleans patient rooms or dismissal units; duties include but are not limitedto AND disinfecting all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning of sinks,counter areas, shower and toilet, dusting, mopping, vacuuming,restocking paper products, and shampooing carpet.Disinfects all public areas duties include but are not limited to sinks,toilets, washing walls, damp mop, and refill paper products,stairwells, damp disinfecting all areas, disinfecting handrails,replacement of blinds and shampooing carpets, buffing or waxing of floors inareas where needed.Follow proper procedure for separating regular waste versus biohazardouswaste, disposal of needles, and storage of clean and dirty linens.Transports patients and equipment (beds, wheelchairs) to varioustreatment areas throughout the hospital in a safe and efficient manner 100%of the time.Assists in transfer process of patient from bed to mode of transportation.Operates cash register and follows cash handling policies and procedures.Restocks and rotates food items as needed in food retail areas.Coordinates the maintenance and repair of department equipment and supplies.Assists with Conference Room set-up and tear down.Collaborates with assigned Manager and Supervisor to evaluate and problemsolves service needs and volumes and adjusts work assignments accordingly,to ensure safe and quality patient care.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by followingstandards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulationsand Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizationsrequirements.Promotes mission, vision, and values of and abides by service behaviorstandards.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
BLS within 90 days of hire is required (Transport)Biohazards WasteCertification required within six (6) months of hire is required(Environmental Services)One (1) year of active experience working in a healthcare environment isrequired
PreferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
