We empower our employees through competitive compensation and benefits package, professional growth opportunities, truthful communication, and more!If you are looking for an opportunity to serve something bigger than yourself; if you want your day job to be one that creates meaningful value; if you are looking for an environment that highly values employees and respects individual differences - then Chugach Government Solutions may be the right fit for you!Job OverviewThe Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for operating motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds up to 26,000 pounds to include passenger shuttle vans (10-20 passenger capacity), cargo vans and 30-40 passenger buses, which may be equipped with air brakes.Wage: The hour rate is $21.89 plus the $4.57/hour fringe.Holidays: 11Vacation: 2 weeks of vacation accrued the 1st yearSick: 56 hours of sick accrued 1 hour per 30 hours workedResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Job Functions:Operates vehicles for long and short distances to transport and pick-up articles, supplies, materials, and passengers.Drives through congested areas where drivers must exercise caution when backing to load or unload at docks, ramps, or similar locations.Assures cargo is properly located, distributed, and secured, and that vehicle is not loaded beyond capacity.Occasion may operate special equipment such as manual winches and tie-downs.Assists fleet manager or dispatcher with transportation requests, data collection of vehicle mileage, passenger traffic, and vehicle maintenance scheduling, stocking warehouse shelves and assisting with recordkeeping as needed.Enforces all safety rules and regulations in accordance with existing Forest Service and OSHA requirements related to personnel, facilities, and equipment.Meets OSHA safety requirements applicable to Contractor and Government furnished equipment.Monitors the assigned areas regularly for safety hazards and submits work orders for any needed repairs or maintenance.Operates government vehicles to transport students to and from off-site activities.Successfully participate in mandatory DOT CDL drug and alcohol testing program.Performs other related duties as assigned.Job RequirementsMandatory:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Must have a valid DOT Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at time of employment with a passenger endorsement.Must possess and maintain adequate insurance to meet minimum liability amounts.One year experience as a CDL certified driver operating large passenger vehicles.Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.Reasonable Accommodation:CGS will provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.Equal Employment Opportunity:Chugach is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
