Overview
SYSTEMS ENGINEERING GROUP, Inc. (SEG) has a position available for an engineer or a scientist to conduct threat ballistic and cruise missile design studies.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Candidate will assist in characterization, documentation, and implementation of the overall system design of threat ballistic and cruise missiles in support of various missile defense initiatives.
Key responsibilities are the collection, analysis, organization, and dissemination of intelligence and design information from the government, the development and use of analytical models and tools to fill gaps or unknowns in intelligence information, and the coordination of design decisions across multiple technical teams, supporting development of trajectory, debris, signatures, and phenomenology models.
Other duties may include development of debris models and products, frame correlation products, PULSE inputs, intelligence compendia, and kinematic threat specification documentation. SEG provides outstanding training to grow the capacity of staff in relevant areas.
Responsibilities will include independent research and assessment of missile system design. Candidate will be responsible for conducting technical studies and communicating their results.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and Statistics.
2-5 years of experience
Strong skills in computer programming and conducting experiments.
Proven performance in conducting Independent Research.
Proficiency in MATLAB for data analysis.
The candidate must be a US citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
Master’s degree in STEM
Linux programming and scripting proficiency.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. SVN or Git).
Proficiency in Python and C++.
