  The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-level or Senior Field Service Representative to join the Field Service Airplane Operational Safety Support team in Seal Beach, California .

  The Airline Operational Safety Support (AOSS) team is part of the Boeing Global Aviation Safety Initiative to promote and partner with our airline customers to increase safety and compliance throughout the airline industry. The AOSS team includes Representatives that are deployed with airlines as advisors and consultants to enhance airline customers safety programs and effectiveness. The primary duties of this position are to create, deploy and provide support to deployed teams working in the above noted capacity in advancement of program objectives. Other duties include but are not limited to coordinating with AOSS leadership and Representatives, with Boeing internal organizations and airlines worldwide. In this role they will be based in the Seal Beach Customer Support facility with AOSS leadership. The AOSS team works with commercial airline maintenance and engineering departments and provide consultation on a variety airline operational safety and compliance issues. The position requires a person with strong airline operational and/or safety management system experience to help initiate positive change within an airlines operation.

  This is a stable assignment, with no Target Assignment End Date (TAED).

  Position Responsibilities:

  •Present professional image in representing the Boeing Company to the customer

  •As part of the Safety Management System, the Airplane Operational Safety Support team will travel on site to work directly with our airline partners to support and advise on maintenance and engineering operations

  •Maintain engagement standards, coordinate activities with internal groups and customer to maintain operations compliant with international industry and Boeing safety standards. Primary focal point for all items related to Operational Safety Support work that covers airline maintenance operations

  •Work closely with other AOSS functions and Field Service representatives around the world

  •Support airline personnel and leadership to mitigate identified gaps, bring to standard and interact with airline maintenance and engineering personnel to evaluate operator performance

  •Requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and customers

  •Must be willing to work at any hour; any length of time; i.e. on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, as the job requires

  •Requires the ability to obtain a valid passport and be able to support local and international Travel of less than 50%

  •While back at home base, team members will share findings, prepare reports for senior executive and sales leadership and work virtually with airline operators to prepare for future evaluations

  •Some of the work performed in support of the Boeing Commercial Airplane’s Safety Support will require travel to international sites. Position requires all candidates to pass post transfer background screenings to apply for work visa’s in an assignment to an international host country. If clearances cannot be granted from the requisite international country, the result may be reassignment, reclassification or termination of employment

  •Recent experience in Airline Operations, Systems, Avionics, Engineering and/or Flight Test preferred

  •Assist in maintaining criteria of evaluation checklists as well as airline data

  •Track deployment of engagements and support team, and manage rotational pool of evaluators

  •Develop and maintain strategic support plans

  •Analyze existing data to plan and execute operator support engagements

  •Generate reports, recommendations and learning from the data

  •Interface with all Boeing stakeholders, including executive leadership and ensuring full coordination as appropriate

  •Continuously incorporate lessons learned into AOSS processes

  This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location .

  The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  •3+ years of experience or education directly related to airline operations (i.e., Maintenance Control Center, Flight Operations, Line Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Parts, and Quality Assurance, MRO operations, etc

  •Flexibility to work varying hours, support evening and early morning customer teleconference and be available by phone 24/7 as needed

  •Be able to travel 50-75% internationally required, with likely travel to remote and challenging environments

  Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  •Airframe and Powerplant license (license need not be current) or direct commercial pilot experience or flight operations background

  •Experience working with remote teams

  •Familiarity with SMS/QMS processes

  •Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry is preferred

  •Experience building and presenting plans or recommendations to airline customers and executive leadership

  •Familiarity and comfort working in an airport environment and observing safety requirements

  •Excellent communication skills -- must be able to communicate with airline personnel (ability to listen and capture data) during the support engagements

  •Demonstrated team player

  •Proven technical writing and presentation skills (clear and concise)

  •Knowledge of basic airline safety practices

  •Knowledge of FAA, EASA and/or Local Regulatory standards

  •Background in airline engineering, maintenance planning, material, quality, maintenance control, line/base maintenance and/or flight ops Working knowledge of Airline Operations (i.e., Maintenance Control Center, Line Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Parts, or Quality Assurance. etc.)

  •Experience traveling and working abroad and representing Boeing to customers or regulators

  •Ability to cross-reference rules among EASA, FAA, ICAO,IOSA, or Local Regulatory

  •Proven ability to create, track and execute program plan

  •Proven technical writing and presentation skills

  Typical Education & Experience:

  Level 3(Mid-level)

  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

  Level 4 (Senior)

  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

  Relocation:

  This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  Summary pay range: Mid-level- $86,700 – $117,300

  Summary pay range: Senior- $103,700 – $140,300

  This position will expire on 2/10/2024.

  Export Control Requirements: U.S. Government Export Control Status: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.
